About this CKAN portal
This portal is the public entry point for data produced through CS activities, along with the reference data models and assessment outputs that support analysis and decision making. Our goal is to make these resources easy to find, clearly documented, and usable through standard download formats and machine friendly interfaces.
What you will find here
1. Open access CS dataWe plan to publish CS datasets in a structured, well documented way so they can be reused for analysis, reporting, and tool development. The exact publication scope will be defined together with CS leaders and data owners. This includes decisions on:
-
Type of data
Raw observations, processed datasets, and evaluation results, depending on feasibility and policy -
Extent of open access
Fully open datasets where possible, plus controlled access where sensitive information is involved -
Restrictions and safeguards
Data security, confidentiality, and authentication expectations, when required -
Access interfaces
Downloads from CKAN, dataset level APIs where relevant, and clear metadata for integration
Planned availability
- Q1–Q2 2026: Data model structure defined based on the first year of CS data
- End of Q1 2027: Final and complete data processing for the full release
This portal will also host reference datasets that standardize terminology and support consistent reporting across projects. This includes:
-
Crops and pests taxonomy
Based on the EPPO Taxonomic Database, with careful handling of any republishing constraints -
Growth stages (BBCH)
Including references and, where permitted, supporting images -
Input products
A searchable reference list, with a focus on usability even if early search functionality is limited
We aim to publish assessment datasets and model outputs that help evaluate performance and sustainability. Planned scope includes:
- Environmental Impact Assessment
- Efficacy Assessment
- Assessment of AWM practices
- Sustainability Assessment
Bringing together key assessment dimensions in a consistent structure
Availability of these datasets depends on the timing and maturity of CS evaluations. In parallel, we will start preparing the data structure and GUI requirements as early as possible so publication and reuse are smooth once results are ready.
How to use the portal
Each dataset page includes a description, documentation when available, licensing and access conditions, update frequency, and contact information. Where access is restricted, the dataset page explains what is protected and how to request access.
If you have feedback on what should be published first, preferred formats, or needed API features, please share it with the portal maintainers. Your input helps shape a portal that is practical for real users and real workflows.
